Hawthorn Hedge Entrance

Love this entrance.  Unknown gardener or landscape designer planted this about 5 years ago.  The wooden automated gate is flanked by an undulating, perfectly groomed, hawthorn hedge that has grown into a tight, live- "green" wall.  In the winter the foliage turns a brilliant orange mustardy color.

May 2016 This is the look of the hedge as of this spring.  It is located in beautiful Hunterdon County, New Jersey on a country road.  Deer resistant for sure and probably impossible for them to penetrate this live barrier.
