A Green Resource

Located in downtown Lambertville, NJ on Bridge St.:  Simply Sustainable a comprehensive resource library where the latest green building products and materials can be viewed, compared and discussed.  It is open to the public and to the trades and can be used as a resource to bring clients to.

Owners Lia Nielsen a LEED Green Associate and Jason Kliwinski, AIA, opened this showroom to showcase the multitude of products available in the market that fulfill the needs of designers and architects whose clients have a growing interest in green building.  It is a one stop shop for finding alternative sustainability products.  There are so many green products available at competitive price points that it means that being "green" no longer has to cost more.

This sample from Rewall a producer of wall board that is made from 100% recycled materials, is called Nakedboard. The ingredient that gives it is predominant color is shredded milk cartons, is available in a variety of colors and is intended to be a finished wall board with no need of painting.  Think homasote-- kicked up a notch, or 3.

New Jersey based Ecotimber Flooring products offer hardwood veneering from sustainable managed forests...they offer bamboo and cork as well.

Ice Stone is made in the Brooklyn Navy Yards and is made from recycled glass and is used in counter tops.

Some of the choices in counter tops, tile  and flooring.

Teragren is a manufacturer of bamboo products that include flooring and counter top materials.  It is impervious to water and is extremely dense and can be installed by a carpenter...no special handling like stone or concrete.

I found this resource center when I wanted to look at paper counter tops after a client mentioned seeing them on HGTV.   I was surprised by the variety of products and impressed by the knowledge both Lia and Jason have.  Further, and pretty important, they have a list of contractors that have worked with many of the products--insuring proper installation.
